JOB DESCRIPTION

The BEST WESTERN PLUS GATINEAU-OTTAWA HOTEL, a mid-market downtown hotel with 133 rooms in the Gatineau/Ottawa region, is currently recruiting for the position of Housekeeping Manager (Second-in-Command).
The successful candidate will support the Executive Housekeeper in managing daily operations, acting as a key leader in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and efficiency across the hotel. They must be fully bilingual in French and English and have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Position: Full-Time
Reports to: Executive Housekeeper

SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Create schedules and assign tasks for housekeeping staff;
  • Plan and coordinate activities of the housekeeping team;
  • Provide training and mentorship to housekeeping staff to maintain high performance;
  • Address and resolve guest concerns related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally;
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.

WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES

  • Fast-paced environment;

L’HÔTEL BEST WESTERN PLUS GATINEAU-OTTAWA, un hôtel milieu de gamme du centre-ville comprenant 133 chambres dans la région de Gatineau/Ottawa, recrute présentement pour le poste de responsable de l’entretien ménager (adjoint à la gouvernante exécutive).
Le candidat retenu travaillera en collaboration avec la Gouvernante Exécutive pour gérer les opérations quotidiennes, jouant un rôle clé dans l’assurance des plus hauts standards de propreté et d’efficacité. Le candidat doit être parfaitement bilingue en français et en anglais et avoir au moins 3 ans d’expérience pertinente.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Executive Housekeeper to oversee the housekeeping department;
  • Supervise housekeeping staff and ensure smooth daily cleaning operations;
  • Manage in-house laundry services and ensure timely delivery of items;
  • Address maintenance and repair needs in collaboration with the maintenance team;
  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing housekeeping equipment and supplies;
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized services when required;
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and organization standards are consistently met;
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and uniforms;
  • Enforce compliance with local health, sanitation, and safety regulations;
