Job Summary: The Overnight Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all hotel areas during night hours. This role ensures guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities meet the hotel’s high standards of hygiene, safety, and appearance, allowing for a pleasant experience for guests and smooth daytime operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Strip/ wax/polish: hotel floors 1-6, Hotel offices, Convention Center (both entrance & back of the house), break rooms,dock area & where directed.
  • Shampoo Carpeting: lobby area, link hallway, Convention Center hallway, behind front desk, all meeting rooms, SalesOffice, Restaurant.
  • Restaurant cleaning: remove trash, clean containers, move tables, dust and wipe down table legs and chairs, dust andwipe down tables, clean all counters, vacuum carpeting in Restaurant, wipe stains off walls, clean & dust lightfixtures, mirrors, glass doors, spot clean carpeting, clean and dust mop wooden floor in bar, wipe down brass rails,wipe/clean bar area, baseboards, windows inside & out in restaurant.
  • Wipe down lampshades.
  • Pick up trash and other objects from front and back parking lots of hotel and convention center.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Must have the ability to operate the necessary equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with/without direction.

Education & Experience: High school diploma, GED, or at least 1 year prior housekeeping experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for 6-8 hours daily.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 20-25 pounds.
  • Must be self-directed and able to adjust speed of activity.
  • Must have 20/20 vision, either with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be able to speak and understand basic English.
  • Able to operate shampoo machine, floor machine and heavy-duty machines.

Mental/Reasoning Requirements:

  • Must be self-directed.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks.

Work Environment:

  • Mostly indoor work, however some work outdoors will be required at times.
  • Mainly work alone, however, working with coworkers is required.
  • Noise.
  • Mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Moving objects.
