Job Summary: Room attendant/Supervisor role oversees the Daily operations of a housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness standards are met, staff are trained, and all areas are well-maintained.
Job Duties:
· Washes shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and stall walls. Wipes exposed pipes, cleans mirrors, sinks and walls in order to have clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms.
· Replaces towels, soaps and all room amenities and restocks literature that has been removed by previous guest, or is soiled or torn, to ensure adequate supply for arriving guests.
· Washes all hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
· Dusts and polishes all furniture, fixtures and wall hangings.
· Strips bed of all linens and remakes with fresh linens.
· Checks closet for cleanliness, wiping closet door, handle and overhead shelves and restocking the guest room supplies (e.g., hangers, extra blankets, extra pillows).
· Vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways.
· Inspects door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and immediately alerts management to an unsecured or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.
· Checks lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order.
· Provides guest room status reports to Front Desk, Housekeeping Manager.
· Inspects premises, guest rooms, linen rooms, and public areas to assure employees maintain the property’s superior standards.
· Lead room attendants on shift, conduct room inspections and redirection as needed.
· Creates a service environment focused on the guest, with a passion for high standards in cleanliness. Responds promptly to customer needs.
· Communicates maintenance and repair needs.
· Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and develops alternative solutions with managers approval.
· Leads staff training and motivation of housekeeping department
· Ensures the team has the proper and necessary equipment and supplies
· Performs room attendant duties as required, other duties as assigned.
· Works as room attendant when required
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Two years prior hotel housekeeping experience including knowledge of cleaning procedures, practices and handling of chemicals.
· One year in a supervisory role of a multi person team
· Knowledge of leaderships skills and teambuilding
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
· Computer literacy or ability to learn in house programs and office applications
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Excellent personal appearance and hygiene habits.
· Requires clearance of a criminal history check
· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and periodic overtime.
· Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
· Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
· Ability to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
· Ability to see and identify minute details in a variety of lighting
· Ability to climb and descend stairs sometimes while carrying equipment
· Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks.
· Ability to complete tasks that require lifting, squatting and kneeling
