POSITION OVERVIEW

Housekeeping staff play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and employees. They are responsible for ensuring that all assigned areas are cleaned, sanitized, and organized in accordance with organizational standards. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Cleaning & Maintenance:
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing in all areas of the gym.
  • Ensure locker rooms, restrooms, and showers are spotless, well-stocked with supplies, and free from unpleasant odors.
  • Regularly clean and disinfect fitness equipment, mirrors, and touchpoints.
  • Presentation & Organization:
  • Maintain a visually appealing environment by arranging towels, amenities, and gym supplies neatly.
  • Monitor and refill consumables such as towels, soap, and cleaning products in designated areas.
  • Quickly address spills, stains, or other incidents to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Member Experience:
  • Respond promptly to member and guest requests for housekeeping services.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with members, maintaining discretion and a helpful attitude.
  • Assist with minor troubleshooting of gym equipment or report damages to the maintenance team.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards, such as wet floors or faulty equipment.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain standards for hygiene in accordance with luxury service expectations.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
  • To comply with local legislation and be conversant and act in accordance with any such matters relating to your department.
  • Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the industry, company.
  • To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  • Attend training and meetings as/when required.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
