An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeping Supervisor, at our award-winning Amesbury Abbey site. The Abbey is a beautiful Grade 1 listed building, rated ‘good’ in every category with CQCand the company is one of Carehome.co.uk’s top 20 groups in the country.

We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper who will be responsible for overseeing domestic, laundry, waiting and wash-up team, ensuring the home’s high standards of cleanliness and service are maintained at all times. You will lead by example, ensuring that all cleaning and waiting tasks are carried out in a prompt and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Responsible and accountable for the staff rotas, ensuring holiday requests are managed and the home is adequately staffed at all times.
  • Deploy multiskilled staff as appropriate and arrange cover for absences and/or sickness as required to ensure the home’s needs are met and maintained.
  • Manage your staff’s time and attendance / holiday / rotas on the People Planner system in a timely fashion.
  • Liaise with the Home Administrator and Wardens to recruit new staff, overviewing adverts, shortlisting and interviewing candidates.
  • Liaise with HR as required to ensure a swift recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Support new staff through their induction / probation period including the undertaking of competency assessments and completion of induction / probation associated paperwork.
  • Ensure staff have the required training and training updates to do their role, liaising with the Training Manager to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, supervisions and annual appraisals.
  • Carry out return to work interviews after employees sickness absence.
  • Ensure all cleaning and laundry schedules are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Ensure that all cleaning stock and housekeeping products, chemicals for the wash-up and laundry are monitored maintained and, where necessary, reordered using the purchase order system and approved suppliers only.
  • Ensure that only approved products are used throughout the home and that COSHH guidance sheets are readily available, signed and up-to-date, adding or removing old products as required. Ensure that all products are locked away and stored appropriately when not in use.
  • Create, review and maintain a comprehensive suite of company processes for the tasks related to your department to ensure clear guides for employees are available and accessible for all on Sharepoint.
  • Undertake daily walk rounds and spot checks to ensure staff are following company policy and procedure and standards are being met and maintained.
  • Liaise daily with Home Manager and Facilities Manager, to ensure that any issues or concerns are logged on ASANA and dealt with in a professional, timely manner.
  • Dress rooms and apartments for viewings and ensure communal areas look their best at all times.
  • Ensure rooms are ready for new admissions and the appropriate equipment is in place in accordance with the resident’s preadmission assessment.
  • Undertake and log on PCS an inventory of new resident’s belongings, providing photographic detail of high value items, especially jewellery, furniture and technology.
  • Ensure clean linen and laundry is stored tidily and securely and old/worn items are replaced in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure residents clothing is maintained with care and stored neatly and appropriately in resident’s rooms.
  • Check and change moth traps quarterly, or as required.
  • Undertake 6 monthly mattress audits, complete associated paperwork and be responsible and accountable for any actions arising.
  • Ensure equipment used is safe and stored appropriately, report any faults to the Facilities Manager and assist with sourcing costings/quotes for repairs and/or replacements if appropriate.
  • Ensure any new / old equipment is reported to the Facilities Manager to add / remove from the company asset register.
  • Along with the Facilities Manager take a lead role in organising the annual Summer Lunches, Christmas Functions and other events on site, funeral teas, staff leaving drinks etc.
  • Be mindful of any health and safety issues e.g. trailing flexes across corridors and wet floors. Ensure that warning signs are used and clearly visible.
  • Ensure that all collected rubbish is disposed of into suitable containers in the designated areas at the end of the shift.

Pay: £21,720.00 per year
