Why You’ll Love This Role: As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the Director of Environmental Services to oversee housekeeping and laundry operations across residential and healthcare areas. Your leadership, organization, and attention to detail will directly impact the comfort, safety, and satisfaction of everyone in our community. Key Responsibilities Oversees management of housekeeping and laundry services for residential and healthcare areas. Ensures the performance, condition and reliability of housekeeping and laundry equipment to ensure efficient operation of equipment Gives specific instructions to the housekeepers, when necessary, in the use of cleaning materials, procedures and techniques, and infection control as needed. Makes regular quality assurance monitors as required by the Q I program. Maintains the inventory of the day-to-day supplies and distribution of the supplies to the staff of the housekeeping department. Manages room set-ups for resident activities and staff and board meetings and events including providing audiovisual support. Negotiates contracts related to housekeeping and laundry services. Assures that outside services are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts and work orders. Follows through on all report paper compliance as required to meet all federal, state and local compliance and to meet the requirements of the Baptist Senior Family. Ensures that staff are following all policies and procedure as required to meet federal, state, and Baptist Senior Family requirements. Develops, implements and maintains written housekeeping and laundry policies and procedures. Completes orientation meetings with new IL residents shortly after move-in. Assists Director of EVS with preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. May perform the duties of the position of a regular housekeeper/laundry worker as per the job duties and the performance standards of those positions. Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications to promote a high level of employee morale. Ensures initial and on-going training is provided to employees as needed; ensures cross-training is completed as appropriate. Monitors employees’ behavior and performance on an on-going basis and through performance appraisals as appropriate. Identifies unacceptable performance and behavior exhibited by employees and takes appropriate action; utilizes progressive discipline policy when appropriate and maintains documentation as required. Adequately delegate’s responsibilities to employees to ensure effective and efficient accomplishment of tasks, as needed. Interview candidates for employment; makes recommendations and/or hires as appropriate. Work Schedule: Full-Time position Monday–Saturday with some possible weekends Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Requirements Qualifications You Bring: High school diploma or GED; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, complete work orders, maintain records, and communicate effectively in writing. Strong verbal communication and listening skills to interact with residents and staff. Ability to perform basic math functions using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions and solve routine problems. Preferred Qualifications: Three to five years of housekeeping and/or laundry experience. One or more years of supervisory experience.
