Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 Position Summary The Housekeeping Supervisor is both a leadership position and a hands-on cleaning role. Responsible for monitoring the work activities of cleaning staff to ensure that they are providing a clean, orderly, and attractive environment for guests. They assign duties accordingly while inspecting all aspects to make sure everything meets industry standards and keeps an eye on customer satisfaction. Duties Train housekeepers on cleaning and maintenance tasks as well as managing your own cleaning tasks. Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the property by ensuring that the lighting, amenities, breezeways, curbs, signage, central garbage areas, and other buildings and common areas are free of debris by cleaning and/or removing trash and other items which affect the appearance and/or operation of the property. Maintain tools and equipment and ensures they are in working order, requests replacements as necessary and assists in stocking inventory of parts and maintenance materials. Supervise daily tasks of housekeeping and laundry staff. Oversee staff performance on a daily basis. Check rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas, for cleanliness•Establish and educate staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards Motivate team members and resolve any issues that occur on the job Respond to customer complaints and special requests Monitor and replenish cleaning products stock including floor cleaner, bleach, rubber gloves, etc. Participate in large cleaning projects as required•Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas Physical Demands and Work Environment: Works throughout property. Moves frequently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Works beyond normal hours on weekends and holidays, when necessary. Subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, evacuation, post disaster,etc.) Subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors and is exposed to dust, disinfectants, hazardous chemicals, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants. Works indoors and outdoors frequently. Frequent exposure to outside elements where temperature, weather, and/or landscape may be unpleasant and/or hazardous. Requirements • High school diploma, G.E.D. or work equivalent. • Required to work on-call duty when needed. • Work experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role • Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations • Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products • Excellent organizational and team management skills • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job
