OVERVIEW

Rockwater Secret Cove Resort, part of the Evergreen Hospitality Group, is a uniquely structured coastal property featuring a blend of accommodations, including Oceanview cabins, lodge rooms and luxury Tenthouses nestled into the forested bluff. The housekeeping team is responsible for servicing not just a variety of room types but also navigating a spread-out, multi-terrain layout accessible by trails, stairs, and boardwalks.
The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a critical role in leading the team to maintain high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest satisfaction across this one-of-a-kind property. This position oversees all aspects of the housekeeping and laundry operation and works hands-on to support a small, hardworking team. The supervisor also manages inventory and supply control, supports staffing and training, and reports directly to the Operations Manager

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of hotel or resort housekeeping experience; supervisory or lead role preferred.
  • Comfortable with physical tasks and movement across uneven terrain and stairs. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude with a problem-solving mindset and strong guest-service orientation.
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and be on feet for extended periods.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets or digital checklists is an asset.
  • Must be available weekends, holidays, and during peak season.

Guest Experience:

  • Respond quickly and professionally to guest complaints or service requests.
  • Ensure that all rooms are cleaned to meet guest expectations, including accommodating special requests such as allergies or celebrations.
  • Coordinate early check-ins, late check-outs, and room changes with Front Desk staf
Responsibilities

Property-Wide Housekeeping Oversight: Supervise daily housekeeping and laundry operations across diverse accommodation types, including:

  • Luxury Tenthouse Suites (accessed via boardwalk on forested terrain)
  • Oceanfront Cabins Main Lodge Rooms
  • Public areas such as washrooms, spa, pool and event spaces o Assign room cleaning schedules based on occupancy, check-ins/outs, and guest requests.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure rooms meet Rockwater’s standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Team Leadership & Support:

  • Lead by example and provide hands-on assistance with cleaning, laundry, and setup during peak times.
  • Train and mentor staff, ensuring consistency in procedures and attention to detail across all units.
  • Monitor staff performance and attendance, reporting concerns to the Operations Manager.

Guest Experience:

  • Respond quickly and professionally to guest complaints or service requests.
  • Ensure that all rooms are cleaned to meet guest expectations, including accommodating special requests such as allergies or celebrations.
  • Coordinate early check-ins, late check-outs, and room changes with Front Desk staff

Inventory & Supplies Management:

  • Maintain par levels of linens, amenities, and cleaning supplies in multiple supply points across the property.
  • Track, rotate, and restock supplies to avoid shortages or waste.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and submit reports to the Operations Manager.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure staff follow WorkSafeBC regulations and safety procedures, especially when moving between terrain areas.
  • Oversee proper handling and labeling of cleaning chemicals and PPE.
  • Support environmentally sustainable cleaning practices in line with resort goals.

Communication & Coordination:

  • Liaise with Front Desk, Maintenance, and Guest Services to report issues, align on guest needs, and support smooth turnover of rooms.
  • Communicate changes in occupancy, group bookings, and weddings to team.
  • Participate in daily team briefings or operational meetings as required.
