Description
    Position Scope: Assists the Executive Housekeeper in managing housekeeping operations to include rooms, public areas and back of the house areas to achieve and maintain the hotel’s high standard of cleanliness. Incumbent must have experience working with PMS systems, preferably Opera. Primary Responsibilities: * Inspects the level of cleanliness in guest rooms, storage areas, laundry areas, restrooms and public areas. * Assists in the training and career development of all housekeeping employees; assists with performance evaluations and communicating performance standards to employees. * Assists in the receiving and unloading of linen and cleaning supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels necessary for efficient operation of the department; assists with monthly linen and supply inventory. * Ensures the timely completion of the Housekeeping Department Reports and communicates clean and available rooms to the Guest Services Department. * Documents and communicates maintenance requests to the Maintenance Department to ensure hotel service quality standards are met. * Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. * Assists the house-person and/or room attendants by helping to clean rooms or public areas. This will involve bending, stooping, lifting, repetitive motions and carrying and/or lifting approximately 50 pounds. * Assists in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted occupancy; assigns daily work tasks to employees. * Completes computerized reports. * Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates. * Conducts ongoing coaching and training regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines. * Ensures hotel employees are in compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, including Health and Safety, ESA and Human Rights. Note: Other duties as assigned by management Education/ Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and two years’ experience in housekeeping or similar industry, to include supervisory experience. Special consideration will be given to those who exhibit exemplary performance. Required Skills: * Proficient with Microsoft Office programs: email, Excel and Word, Opera PMS or related PMS experience required * Organizational and multi-tasking abilities. * Attention to detail. * Ability to motivate and direct others. * Interpersonal communication skills. Working Conditions: * Will be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays and shift work. * Typical shifts are 9 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. and/or 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. * Will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment. * Will be exposed to and working with household chemicals.
