Head Housekeeper/Housekeeping Team Lead | Bristol | Fulltime & Permanent | Competitive pay plus fantastic benefits | Free Parking Spire Bristol has an exciting opportunity for a Housekeeping Team Lead/Head Housekeeper to join the team on a full time basis. Working hours - Must be flexible to earlies, lates, weekends and occasional nights. 6am earliest start. 2am latest finish. Working shifts across these weekly. JOB PURPOSE: To oversee the provision of a high quality professional housekeeping service whilst working hands- on alongside the team.  Maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and infection control and customer service throughout the hospital.  Duties and responsibilities:  * Hands- on supervision of the housekeeping team  * To work night shifts and weekends on rotation to ensure supervisory cover throughout and offer a flexible approach to theatre and housekeeping teams to ascertain levels of work on a daily basis and allocate work load amongst team and communicate needs for bank etc to PSM  * To work hands on throughout the shift, carrying out cleaning duties in accordance with the hospital’s current cleaning schedules   * Coordinate breaks, making adjustments where needed to ensure needs of the business are met * To spot check on housekeepers during the shift, checking quality of work and ensuring each doing their fair share .  Action any issues as appropriate. (remedial training, documentation, informal meetings and formal meetings as supported by PSM)  * Ensure that store rooms and trolleys are kept clean, tidy and properly stocked with materials, checking each housekeeper has completed the task at end of their shift * To manage the paperwork, ensuring daily check lists are fully completed  and filed efficiently and appropriately per the Policy Storage and retention of documents * To manage supplies ensuring adequate stock is on hand maintaining cost effective use of all materials at all times. * To identify, along with hotel services manager the deep clean / periodic cleans needed and to plan and roll out accordingly. * Arrange and co- ordinate rota cover for sick / absence / busy periods as the need arises, being mindful of budgetary constraints. *  To carry out  on- the job training of new  and existing staff  * To set annual EE smart objectives for housekeepers and hold quarterly reviews   * To assist in carrying out environmental audits per the schedule as part of the audit team * Actively participating in the promotion of good communications throughout the working environment. Promoting a “can do” attitude within the housekeeping team * Ensuring through safe working conditions, the health; safety and welfare of all directly managed staff colleagues, patients and visitors and to comply at all times with health and safety policies and procedures. * To undertake any other duty that may, from time to time, be delegated by the Manager that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.
