The Houseperson is to work under the Housekeeping department and reporting to the Executive Housekeeper. A full-time team member must have open availability, without any restrictions on days and shift times. The working hours will vary from weekdays, weekends, and holidays (morning, mid, evenings shifts, and on-call basis).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a hotel housekeeping environment is an asset
  • Able to work with a variety of chemical substances/cleaning supplies
  • Able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Desire to work in a team based environment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills including radio skills

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the common areas of the hotel, including restrooms & public sitting areas
  • Remove dirty linens from service areas
  • Stock linens on guest room floors
  • Assist Room Attendants as needed
  • Stocking of supplies and cleaning materials
  • Responsible for the disposal of recyclable paper and garbage.
  • Respond to radio calls for Housekeeping and respond to guest requests.
  • Ensure Housekeeping equipment is maintained in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Correctly use the various cleaning chemicals, materials, and equipment and dispense Housekeeping chemicals in accordance with WHMIS Guidelines.
  • Report and follow up on any maintenance defects and safety hazards found in all work areas
  • Support and assist other associates and/or departments, to assure the hotel’s overall success.
  • Attend all departmental meetings, and briefings.
