Sorry we do not have LMIAs available Job Summary This position plays an important role in maintaining the hotel cleanliness and operations while ensuring a welcoming environment for guests. The position involves a combination of physical tasks, attention to detail and guest services. Shifts will generally be in the afternoon but may vary depending on operational needs. Duties include cleaning public areas; assisting housekeeping with various tasks; assisting guests with baggage; ensuring ground are maintained; assisting the maintenance team. Key Responsibilities Public Area Maintenance Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls in public areas, and hallways Vacuums public areas, and hallways. Cleaning and maintaining common areas of the hotel such as lobbies and stairwells Continually meeting established standards of cleanliness to assure guest satisfaction. Support to Housekeeping Fill in for housekeeping shifts from time to time Cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms, including making beds and changing linens Stripping rooms and delivering linen to rooms Distributing laundry to all housekeeping rooms Making sure all linen is arranged neatly Maintain housekeeping trolleys Helping the room attendants with heavy lifting and special cleaning projects as directed Maintenance and Repair Assist with minor maintenance as required. Checks lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order. Cleaning up grounds, walkways and parking areas including snow shoveling as needed Ensure grounds at staff housing are maintained and clear of garbage or clutter Guest Assistance Assist with carrying or storing luggage as required Maintains a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanour always. Cleanliness and Safety Maintain the hotel rooms and building to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates and vendors. Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe situations immediately to manager. What skills, abilities and attitudes should you bring to the position? Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, and operation of standard cleaning equipment. Basic knowledge of using hand and power tools An independent self-starter able to work with minimal supervision. Friendly, positive attitude Good problem-solving skills Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks. Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighting up to 100 lbs. Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. Willing to learn new tasks and procedures Able to work outdoors in all weather General maintenance skills and experience an asset Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc. Ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
