JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable House Person to join our housekeeping team at Iris Hotel Boston. The House Person will assist with the overall cleanliness and upkeep of hotel guest rooms, public areas, and facilities, ensuring a positive guest experience. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to providing high standards of cleanliness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience in a hotel or housekeeping role is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Clean and Maintain Public Areas: Regularly clean and maintain lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other public areas within the hotel.
  • Assist Housekeeping Staff: Support housekeeping staff in cleaning guest rooms by providing necessary supplies, removing dirty linens, and ensuring rooms are fully stocked.
  • Stock and Replenish Supplies: Ensure that housekeeping carts are stocked with linens, towels, toiletries, and cleaning products. Refill supplies as needed in the housekeeping storage areas.
  • Laundry Assistance: Assist with the collection, sorting, and delivery of dirty linens and towels to the laundry room, as well as distributing clean linens to appropriate areas.
  • Respond to Guest Requests: Address guest requests in a timely and efficient manner, such as delivering extra towels, toiletries, or pillows.
  • Maintain Cleanliness of Equipment: Ensure that all housekeeping equipment is in good working condition and properly stored.
  • Ensure Safety and Cleanliness Standards: Follow safety protocols and maintain high standards of cleanliness in all areas. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department.
  • Assist with Special Projects: Occasionally help with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning, or assisting with other departments when needed.
