JOB SUMMARY

To provide support to to the Homelessness Case Managers to provide a preventative and responsive service to those who are homeless or threatened with homelessness within the Borough.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Working experience of the delivery of front line services to customers.
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload and those of others.
  • You must be wiling to undergo DBS checking.
  • Customer service experience within a similar role is preferred.

    Pay: £13.26-£17.34 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Receive enquiries from tenants and applicants, by telephone, giving advice or referring to HPRT or Housing Options staff as appropriate.
  • Explain to tenants and applicants the basic provisions of the Lettings Policy and Practice, and their consequent housing or re-housing options, including housing association and private sector opportunities.
  • Identifying appropriate cases (those homeless or threatened with potential homelessness) to be referred to HPRT Case Manager for specialist advice, making appointments and/or assisting in the use of technology.
  • Maintain the Councils computerised waiting list and allocations program, and other I.T. software ensuring accuracy and promptness of input.
  • Collect and present information as directed for performance indicators and government statistics.
  • Respond to other enquiries regarding the Homelessness/Housing Advice Service.
  • Maintain records of the use and availability of temporary accommodation, furniture storage and transport for homeless people and their belongings.
  • Subject to experience and competency, assist the Case Managers in investigating homelessness claims.
