Description The Housing Advocate for CVOEO’s Bridges Recovery Shelter provides direct support and advocacy for individuals experiencing homelessness who are committed to living in recovery from drugs and alcohol. The position integrates housing-focused case management with recovery support and mental health resources in a trauma-informed, client-centered environment. The Housing Advocate works directly with shelter guests to secure safe, stable, and supportive housing while coordinating with internal staff and community partners to address barriers to recovery, employment, and wellness. This role is critical to ensuring guests’ successful transition from shelter to permanent housing and sustained recovery. This position reports to the Bridges Recovery Shelter Director (or Associate Director). We have openings for the following shifts: Monday-Friday 1pm-9pm Monday-Friday 3:45pm-12:15am Monday-Friday 11:45pm-8:15am Friday-Tuesday 11:45pm-8:15am Please view our job description: Recovery Shelter Advocate Requirements Provide direct housing advocacy and case management to guests of the Bridges Recovery Shelter, emphasizing sobriety, stability, and self-sufficiency. Assess guests’ housing needs and develop individualized housing plans, including referrals to permanent supportive housing, rental assistance programs, and community resources. Support guests in navigating applications, landlord communications, and housing-related legal and financial processes. Advocate for guests’ rights and needs with landlords, treatment providers, and community agencies. Support recovery-oriented services by connecting guests with mental health, substance use, and peer support programs. Monitor and assist guests in maintaining compliance with shelter policies and recovery program requirements, providing guidance on relapse prevention and wellness strategies.
