The Housing Specialist will guide clients through all aspects of the housing process—from locating housing and completing applications to lease execution and tenancy stabilization. This role requires strong relationship-building skills and community engagement to ensure sustainable housing outcomes. This is a community-based, field-focused role with regular in-person engagement throughout the Bronx. Key ResponsibilitiesHousing Navigation & Placement Assist individuals in identifying safe, suitable, and affordable housing opportunities Support clients with applications, documentation, and housing eligibility verification Coordinate apartment viewings, lease signings, and move-in logistics Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, and housing providers Tenancy Support & Stabilization Provide ongoing tenancy support to ensure long-term housing stability Educate clients on lease obligations, budgeting, and tenant responsibilities Address tenancy challenges and intervene early to prevent housing disruption Support clients in developing independent living skills Client Engagement & Case Management Maintain a caseload of approximately 30-45 clients Conduct home visits and community-based meetings Develop individualized housing stability plans Coordinate with care teams and community partners to provide holistic support Documentation & Compliance Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services and client interactions Track housing placements, outcomes, and program metrics Participate in team meetings, case consultations, and professional development Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public health, or related field preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in case management, housing navigation, or social services Experience working with vulnerable populations preferred Knowledge of affordable and supportive housing systems is a plus Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage a 30-45 client caseload in a field-based environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Bronx for client visits and housing meetings Must have access to personal computer and high-speed internet Schedule & Benefits Schedule: Monday – Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Job Type: Full-time $25.00-28.00 per Hour Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Retirement Plan (401k, IRA) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
