Job Title: Housing Disrepair – Part 8 Fee Earner
Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 1 day office, 4 days WFH)
Salary: Up to £29,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience managing Part 8 Housing Disrepair files is essential
  • Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and Housing Disrepair litigation
  • Confident preparing and managing issued Part 8 claims
  • Experience closing legal files is highly desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
  • Able to manage workload independently in a hybrid work environment

EXPERIENCE:

  • Part 8 Housing Disrepair litigation: Required
  • Legal file closing and post-settlement work: Preferred

ABOUT THE ROLE

A leading specialist law firm in Manchester is seeking an experienced Part 8 Fee Earner to join their growing Housing Disrepair team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in managing issued Part 8 files and ideally has experience in closing files post-settlement.
This is a hybrid position, offering the flexibility to work 4 days from home and 1 day in the office each week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a caseload of issued Part 8 Housing Disrepair claims
  • Prepare and file Part 8 proceedings and related court documents
  • Progress claims efficiently through the court process
  • Liaise with clients, courts, landlords, and third parties
  • Ensure all steps are compliant with court rules and internal processes
  • Negotiate settlements where appropriate
  • Close files post-settlement in line with firm procedures
