Description

We are looking to recruit a full-time Legal Assistant for our Housing Team. This is an office-based support and administrative role assisting fee earners at all levels. Hours of work will be 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

THE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED ARE:

  • Ability to work as part of a team and support multiple fee earners
  • Ability to work independently on own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet urgent deadlines
  • Being computer literate with good keyboard skills
  • Being organised and able to manage conflicting priorities
  • Having attention to detail and accuracy in all work
  • Good oral and written communication skills to deal with client’s and third parties

Responsibilities
  • Dealing with clients face to face or over the telephone
  • Photocopying and scanning of documents
  • Collating and paginating documents
  • Assisting with incoming and outgoing post
  • Arranging appointments and conferences
  • Preparing bundles of documents for court and barristers
  • Attending and taking notes at conferences on fee earners’ behalf
  • Updating electronic case files using Proclaim case management system
  • Ensuring case files are organised appropriately and updated in a timely manner
  • Discrete casework tasks as required by fee earners
