Qualifications Best Best & Krieger LLP (BBK) has an immediate opening for a mid-level Litigation Associate to join our expanding Housing team. This is a unique opportunity to support a high-impact practice focused on some of the most pressing housing issues in California. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably involving writs of mandate, municipal/public entity litigation, and/or land use law A demonstrated interest or background in housing and land use law, especially in the municipal context Familiarity or a strong desire to learn and work with laws such as the Housing Accountability Act, affordable housing regulations, housing elements, builder’s remedy and land use litigation Excellent analytical and writing skills Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions Strong academic credentials and the ability to take initiative and work independently within a collaborative team BBK offers a hybrid/remote work schedule and the opportunity to engage with important legal issues shaping California communities. This position may be based in any of BBK’s California offices. Candidates must be admitted to practice law in California. The reasonably expected pay scale for this position seeking an associate with 3 or more years of experience is $127,500 - $185,000.
