HOUSING MANAGEMENT OFFICER - 6 MONTH FTC (WITH A POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION)

Location: East Lancashire covering dispersed housing
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £25,901 – £29,142 (Spinal Point 21–25)

Stepping Stone Projects is looking for a proactive and compassionate Housing Management Officer to join our team and deliver high-quality housing management services across our supported accommodation schemes and dispersed properties, supporting young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Experienced in housing management, supported housing, or housing advice.
  • Knowledgeable about welfare rights, housing benefit, and safeguarding.
  • Skilled in managing caseloads, lone working, and liaising with external agencies.
  • Confident, adaptable, and committed to delivering positive outcomes.
  • A Level 3 QCF qualification (or willingness to work towards one) in housing, social care, or a related field is advantageous.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is required for managing dispersed properties.

Responsibilities

As a Housing Management Officer, you’ll play a key role in helping our customers sustain their tenancies and live safely and independently. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering intensive housing management tailored to individual support plans.
  • Managing rent accounts and minimising arrears and void losses.
  • Conducting tenancy sign-ups, property inspections, and health & safety checks.
  • Liaising with contractors and external agencies to ensure repairs and services are delivered effectively.
  • Promoting community safety and responding to anti-social behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
