SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED MAY INCLUDE:

  • Good understanding and knowledge of social housing legislation and neighbourhood management.
  • Experience of managing tenancy issues, including enforcement and legal processes.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a housing environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and resident-focused approach.
  • Confidence working with diverse communities and a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Driving licence and use of own car compulsory for this role
    What’s involved with this role:
    A Neighbourhood Manager is needed to cover all aspects of the housing management function in Penarth, Dinas Powys, Sully & Palmerston (Barry) which equates to approximately 1150 properties.
    The role is busy and varied which means that the candidate is likely to be on site minimum of 3 days a week, however this can vary depending on workload. Office working days are Tuesday & Wednesday and these can be inclusive of the days on site. The client group covered is general needs however there are 2 sheltered complexes which they will also oversee.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

  • Manage a team of Housing Officers delivering day-to-day tenancy and estate services.
  • Act as the lead contact for residents and community partners, developing strong local relationships.
  • Respond to and resolve complex tenancy issues, including anti-social behaviour, safeguarding concerns, and breaches of tenancy.
  • Monitor estate standards and coordinate regular inspections, working with contractors and internal services.
  • Ensure compliance with housing regulations, health and safety, and local authority policies.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and support community engagement activities.
