Do you have experience dealing with complex housing management cases and the confidence to act as a professional lead for Housing Assistants?
Do you have an in depth knowledge of housing issues, current legislation and case law?
SJP Recruitment are working with a local housing provider that are seeking a Housing officer to join their team.

Experience:

Responsibilities
  • A designated housing area and be the main front line contact for tenants and
  • residents for housing and estate management matters
  • Attend team meetings, monthly one-to-one meetings with Housing Assistants
  • to overcome problems and carry out work review interviews, setting work targets and producing reports as required.
  • To report to Senior Neighbourhoods Officer on a monthly basis on performance indicators.
  • Possessing/maintaining an in depth knowledge of housing issues, current legislation and case law in order to provide specialist advice to service users and colleagues.
  • Undertaking routine activities associated with estate management including tenancy management, management of garages including making sure the waiting list is maintained and tenant consultation.
  • Adopting a pro-active approach towards estate management, ensuring regular tenancy and estate audits and inspections are undertaken to monitor performance of grounds maintenance, communal cleaning other estate services to ensure that high standards of service are delivered in housing areas. Actively enforcing tenancy agreements in a professional and determined manner.
  • Participating in management and regeneration based initiatives such as Neighbourhood agreements, identifying estate management and other issues that impact on the residents on our estates and working with residents and partners to develop appropriate resolutions to the issues identified.
