POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housing Programs Coordinator serves as a central point of contact for individuals seeking services within RUPCO’s housing programs. As the first face clients encounter at 304 Flatbush Avenue, this position plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming, professional, and supportive experience. The coordinator assists clients with navigating available programs, processes intake and documentation, and supports the day-to-day operations of the office. This position requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, client-centered environment.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Must have High School diploma
  • 3 years in a relevant field or equivalent experience in customer service or administrative roles.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (or another relevant language) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with client management systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work collaboratively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the front-facing representative of the Housing Programs team at the 304 Flatbush Avenue office, assisting walk-ins and managing general inquiries.
  • Assist with office management responsibilities, including ordering supplies and maintaining equipment for smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate communication and follow-up with clients, contractors, vendors, and program staff via phone, email, and in-person or virtual meetings.
  • Conduct intake appointments and ensure client files are complete, accurate, and up to date for all housing programs.
  • Work collaboratively with program staff, clients, and contractors to review and approve files, initiate services, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of cases.
  • Prepare, organize, and execute contracts and support documentation across housing programs, including rehab and special initiatives.
  • Meet with clients to obtain required signatures and authorizations; may require travel to client homes.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all housing programs and funding sources to accurately explain program guidelines, eligibility, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor the shared program email inboxes and respond to inquiries appropriately.
  • Organize and review all documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for audits or reporting and draws.
  • Schedule and support outreach activities such as workshops, information sessions, or community events.
  • Attend all required meetings and training.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as scheduled and approved.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of RUPCO’s housing programs.

  • Maintain a work environment in a clean, organized, and safe manner. Conduct daily inspections of work areas to look for unsafe conditions
