HOUSING SUPPORT OFFICER - ABBEY HOUSE 15-BED EMERGENCY SERVICE

At Abbey House we take a client-centred approach, empowering individuals with personalised support that helps individuals as they work through underlying challenges in transitioning to suitable accommodation.
Contract Details Permanent Contract, Part-Time 33.5-hour week on average as part of a 4-week rolling roster with a 7-day liability that includes ‘sleep-overs’.

Salary HSE Social Care Worker salary scale 01/03/2023 €36,195 – €51,941 (pro rata)

JOB SUMMARY

Housing Support Officers act as key workers to clients, alongside Health Care Assistants, with clients that have complex care and support needs, delivering practical and emotional supports to clients as part of their overall support plan.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualification - Degree in social care or similar, and qualify for CORU registration as a Social Care Worker.
  • Experience - 2-years relevant experience in a similar role in a care setting.
  • Driving - Valid, full driving licence.
Responsibilities
  • Clients - Support clients from all backgrounds and experiences, in a calm, trauma informed, harm-reduction approach to implement client support plans that maximise their health, self-care, education, community engagement, home management skills, and their overall well-being with the goal of independent living.
  • Compliance - Stay compliant with all organisation policies, stay up to date on mandatory training, participate in routine maintenance, inspections and cleaning in line with health and safety standards.
  • Service Delivery - Ability to lead a shift effectively, systematically log and record all interventions with and behalf of clients on relevant systems, work in an organised and efficient manner with clear communication within the team to deliver high-quality professional service.
  • General - Willingness to adapt as needed to support client and service needs.
