Catholic Charities is the social service arm of the Catholic Diocese of Winona-Rochester serving the twenty southernmost counties of Minnesota. Catholic Charities of Southern Minnesota is seeking a full-time Housing Support Supervisor in our Rochester location.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate candidate to join our team. This role requires a strong commitment to supporting staff and helping residents navigate challenges and access necessary resources for their well-being.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Catholic Charities is looking for a case manager to provide case management services as defined by Minnesota Statute or service agreement to the clients of the Adult Advocacy Program with a full caseload,. T
The ideal candidate should be committed to working with individuals in a manner that promotes their dignity and sense of self-worth, be creative, organized, show ability to multi-task and possess a real passion for helping others. Adhere to deadlines and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills to mediate and foster positive relationships with staff, outside agencies and residents.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and management, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Background in social work or addiction counseling is preferred to support residents’ diverse needs effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with residents, staff, and external organizations.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously. This role is essential for creating a thriving community atmosphere while ensuring compliance with all relevant housing regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or related human services field required or 5 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a social service, housing, or related setting.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health conditions and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of Housing First, Harm Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care models.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and life experiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance required.
  • Preference given to those with Housing Support Supplemental Services experience (HSSS)

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of housing properties, ensuring compliance with program procedures and service contract requirements
  • Facilitate staff onboarding and training in accordance with program procedures
  • Communicate and coordinate services effectively with all team members, both in writing and in person
  • Oversee and assist team members by offering continuous feedback, guidance, and coaching throughout daily interactions, monthly supervision sessions, and team meetings.
  • Hold required monthly team meetings with staff to guarantee consistency and effective communication
  • Observe team morale and tackle any staff behavior that lacks inclusivity, support, or positivity.
  • Conduct comprehensive annual performance evaluations and, when necessary, implement performance improvement plans.
  • Create and manage schedules for staff and interns to guarantee complete shift coverage.
  • Participate in a weekend on-call rotation to offer supervisory assistance.
  • Collaborate with residents to create “plans moving forward” that support lease compliance and housing stability.
  • Model trauma-informed care practices and language, using a harm-reduction and housing-first approach.
  • Facilitate monthly resident meetings (PSH programs only).
  • Maintain accurate resident documentation, including but not limited to goal plans, case notes, incident reports, etc.
  • Maintain attendance records, disciplinary action, staff one-on-one records, receipts, and other required documentation.
  • Ensure necessary supplies and services are in place for effective building operations.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Program Director.
  • Meet weekly with the Olmsted County Social Worker and Property Manager to coordinate services and building operations.
  • Plan and facilitate community-building activities, resident meetings, and opportunities for engagement with the larger community.
  • Collaborate with other agency teams to support housing/shelter perspectives and services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including county agencies, law enforcement, and community service providers, to enhance resource access for residents.
