POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeper position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our rental units, including yurts, cabins, the dining hall, and other program areas or buildings as assigned. This role involves routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and changing linens, to ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for our participants/visitors. Additional duties include laundering linens, removing trash, and following set cleaning schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior summer camp experience preferred
  • Prior experience leading peers preferred
  • Bus Driver Certification preferred (We can certify)
  • Must be a highschool graduate
  • CPR/AED and First Aid required
  • TB test required

Responsibilities

Child Development:

  • Be a role model for & develop positive meaningful relationships with youth.
  • Provide children with the opportunities to make new friends and learn new activities.
  • Be concerned with camper development & growth.
  • Be aware of health and safety concerns.
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success.
  • Ensure that each and every camper is included in the group.
  • Ensure that Camp Erdman is a positive and memorable experience instilling a strong desire to return to every camper.
  • Ensure that children are always supervised.
  • Attend staff training and meetings.

Programming:

  • Provide innovative and fun programming for your group of campers including leading skill tracks and supporting program staff during cabin times.
  • Operate your program within the Camp Erdman schedule.
  • Use good judgment when leading activities.
  • Foster a sense of ownership in programs and facilities.
  • Other duties as required that pertain to the operation of a summer camp.
  • Leading a group of children on an overnight tent camping experience.
