Description
Who is DMC? DMC is a leading engineering consulting firm, delivering high-caliber engineering and custom software development services globally. Specializing in innovative solutions for manufacturing, testing, and product development, our expertise spans industries from aerospace to consumer-packaged goods to healthcare, and more. Our engineers excel in staying ahead of cutting-edge technologies and delivering top notch solutions. We prioritize technical excellence and cultivate a collaborative environment for independent and team-based work, reflecting our commitment to professional growth and providing forward-thinking solutions to clients. Our service areas include Manufacturing Automation, Test & Measurement, Embedded Development and Application Development. What should I expect from DMC's 1-Day Externship Program? DMC consistently recruits at your school each year, and although we do not offer internships, we are looking for a chance to interact with underclassmen, share what we do, and equip students with a resume-building opportunity. DMC engineers love to share information and have fun, and we will be doing a lot of that through our Externship Program! We are excited to meet students, answer questions, and provide attendees with a meaningful experience. DMC will select a handful of students to join us onsite for one day this Winter. These students will spend the day as a DMC engineer taking part in creating technical solutions, learning about the manufacturing industry, and being a part of our Houston office. Much of the day will be centered around technical hands-on learning in our lab spaces. Students will learn what we do in our various service areas, industries, and projects. This is a great opportunity to get exposure to industry topics and technologies, from relationships with DMC engineers, build your resume, and learn something new! Who should apply? When considering applications, our committee will be looking for students who express interest in DMC, the manufacturing industry, software development, and/or controls systems. The application is open to students of all graduation years majoring in MXET (Mechatronics Engineering Technology) and ESET (Electronics Systems Engineering Technology). We also still have full-time Automation engineer openings in Dallas for Spring/Summer 2026 start dates and are accepting applications. When will the externship take place? The Externship Program will be held during the week of January 5th (exact date TBD) at DMC Houston, which is located at 8 Greenway Plaza Suite 250 Houston, Texas 77046. It is the responsibility of the applicant to handle their transportation to and from DMC. We will not be reimbursing travel expenses.* Apply by December 7th! Apply via the link shared with you by your IEEE Tech and SOMTECH organizations. The application deadline is Thursday, December 11th at midnight. You will receive an email response regarding your application shortly after that, along with more details about the day’s schedule if you should be invited to attend. Feel free to reach out to Jason.Mayes@dmcinfo.com with any questions or concerns! Additional Information: DMC Website Engineering Blogs
