The Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) operates one of the most advanced supercomputing infrastructures for scientific applications in Europe – including JUPITER, the first exascale supercomputer in Europe – and makes it available for research purposes to scientists at Forschungszentrum Jülich, in Germany, and throughout Europe. In our “Application Optimization and User Service Tools” lab, applications are optimized and scaled in terms of performance and efficiency, and tools are developed to support our users. Responsibilities
  • Leverage your technical knowledge of Data Science by analysing monitoring, application-focused, and operational data
  • You bring in new analysis perspectives through advanced statistical method
  • Analyse complex data sets, structure information from various sources, derive clear findings from them and generate clear visualisation of the results
  • Coordinate with our project partners in a deeply intertwined project setup, involving a large team of system software and application developers
  • Additional possibility to extend and analyse the results of regular benchmarks of our production and prototype systems and its software stack using synthetic benchmarks and application codes
  • Identify optimisation potential, with focus on architecture-specific strategies aiming at scaling and/or performance improvements
  • Address user questions, provide HPC supportPresent/publish results in collaboration meetings, workshops and conference
