Description
As an HPC Engineer at Honeywell, you will design, deploy, and maintain high-performance computing environments that power advanced data processing and computational workloads. This role is critical in ensuring our infrastructure delivers maximum performance, scalability, and reliability to support innovation across engineering and research teams. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will optimize HPC systems and enable faster, more efficient data analysis that drives operational excellence and business impact. You will report directly to our IT Infrastructure Manager and you’ll work out of our Bucharest, RO location on a Hybrid work schedule (3 + 2).  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Design, implement, and manage HPC clusters and supporting infrastructure * Deploy, maintain, and provide ongoing support for high-performance computing environments * Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability through configuration tuning and monitoring * Collaborate with engineering and research teams to understand computational needs and provide technical solutions * Manage job scheduling systems (e.g., Slurm, PBS) and cluster tools * Ensure efficient storage and networking performance within HPC environments * Troubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability of services REQUIREMENTS * 3+ years of experience working with HPC systems, cluster management, and parallel computing environments * Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar) * Strong knowledge of HPC architecture and job schedulers (e.g., Slurm, PBS) * Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems and strong Linux administration skills * Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) and performance tuning * Experience managing storage in HPC environments * Solid understanding of networking and storage technologies relevant to HPC NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS * Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field * Experience with hybrid or cloud-based HPC solutions * Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) * Knowledge of parallel programming models (MPI, OpenMP) * Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to collaborate cross-functionally WHAT WE OFFER * Comprehensive benefits package: Medical, Vision, Dental, Mental Health support * Paid vacation * Retirement/401(k) plan (according to regional policy) * Career growth opportunities in a global organization * Continuous learning and professional development We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
