As an HPC System Engineer, you will be responsible for the operation, optimisation and maintenance of HPC clusters to ensure efficient use of computing power and smooth performance..
These exciting tasks await you:
- Operation, optimisation and maintenance of HPC clusters
- Installation and configuration of operating systems (especially Rocky Linux)
- Network configuration and optimisation for high-speed networks such as InfiniBand and Omni-Path
- Ensuring optimal use of computing power and resources through appropriate ajustments and optimisations
- Adaption and fine-tuning of MPI and OpenMP configurations for maxmium scaling and efficiency
- Managing and monitoring job schedulers such as Slurm and LSF
- Carying out debugging and troubleshooting for computing jobs
- 1st and 2nd level support
YOUR SOFT SKILLS:
- Very good communication and teamwork skills
- Independent and responsible way of working
- Curiosity and motivation to deal with new topics
- The ability to solve complex problems independently
OUR REQUIREMENTS:
- Ideally a degree in computer science or equivalent traing
- You have a strong interest in HPC and ideally have experience from a comparable position
- Sound experience in Linux administration, especially with Rocky Linux
- Confident with scripting in Bash and Python
- Experience in network and storage management
- Application and administration of HPC software such as MPI and OpenMP
- Management of load balancing systems such as Slurm and LSF
- Monitoring and analysing system performance with monitoring tools such as Promotheus, Grafana and Icinga
- Good written and spoken German and English skills
