Description

About the Role

At Walkinshaw Group, we're passionate about creating exceptional automotive products and experiences. With a proud Australian heritage and a talented team of people, we foster a collaborative, inclusive and hands-on environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow and make an impact.

As our Human Resources Administrator, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping our people operations running smoothly. Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources, you'll support a wide range of HR activities across recruitment, onboarding, employee records, HR systems and compliance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and people-focused administrator looking to build their HR career. You'll work closely with employees and leaders across the business, helping to create a workplace where people feel supported, valued and set up for success.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Coordinating recruitment activities, including advertising roles, scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates and conducting pre-employment checks.
  • Delivering a seamless onboarding experience and helping new team members hit the ground running from day one.
  • Preparing employment contracts, letters and HR documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintaining employee records and HR systems to ensure information is accurate, current and secure.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for HR queries and providing support to employees and leaders across the business.
  • Assisting employees with Employment Hero and helping to make HR processes easy to navigate.
  • Monitoring key compliance activities including probation reviews, work rights, training requirements and employee documentation.
  • Coordinating occupational health appointments and related employee wellbeing activities.
  • Building strong relationships across both office and production environments.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve the efficiency of HR administration.

What Impact You'll Have

  • Shape positive employee experiences from recruitment through to onboarding and beyond.
  • Help ensure our HR operations run efficiently, accurately and compliantly.
  • Build trusted relationships with employees and leaders across the business.
  • Support the attraction and retention of great people.
  • Bring fresh ideas that improve how we work and support our teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous experience in an HR Administration or support role, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Strong administration skills, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Exposure to recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle administration (highly regarded).
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms (Employment Hero experience highly regarded).
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • A proactive mindset and a desire to continuously improve processes and ways of working.
