Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whānau |Welcome to our Fulton Hogan Family You will be the go-to HR Advisor across our Central Otago regional business, based in Alexandra, Cromwell or Queenstown. Day to day, you will coach leaders, resolve people issues early, and keep things on track across the full HR lifecycle. You will provide practical advice on employment and industrial relations, working closely with operational leaders to manage risk and do the right thing by our people. This is an autonomous role where you will build strong relationships, spot patterns, and help shape how HR is delivered across the region. This is an exciting new role, and an opportunity to make it your own, working with senior leaders to help set the people agenda and strategy for the regional business. In addition to the above you will: Provide confidential, practical HR advice to managers, including employment documentation, performance, leave, remuneration, benefits and ER/disciplinary process and procedures. Maintain accurate HR records and employee data, ensuring employment agreements and related documents align with current legislation. Coordinate performance and development activity, including annual reviews, PDPs and tailored development plans. Lead regional training coordination and compliance, including compulsory courses and partnering with H&S to support business continuity. Champion early careers and graduate pathways (scholarships, apprenticeships, cadetships), from onboarding and rotations through to pastoral care and progression. Support end-to-end recruitment for current and future needs, including advertising, recruitment campaigns, shortlisting and structured, competency-based interviewing. Own the new starter experience as the key contact pre-start, ensuring timely inductions and onboarding across the region There will be some travel within the Central Otago region involved in the role. Great discounts at a wide range of retailers. We’re looking for someone with: 3 years’ minimum experience in a similar role, preferably in a highly operational environment. A relevant tertiary qualification advantageous Solid understanding of NZ employment law, with some hands-on experience in ER/IR. Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects, working effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and relationship building skills. Comfortable working independently as the key HR contact, confidently making decisions, prioritising work and progressing initiatives with minimal guidance.
