HR ADVISOR – ROTHERWAS, HEREFORD

We are looking for a suitable candidate to assist in the delivery of HR support. This operational role will be responsible for advice and support with mid-level employee relations issues and compliance matters; providing initial advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, employment law and best practice before escalating complex cases to the HR Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or;
  • Level 3 or above management certification with Management Institute (CMI) or Institute of Leadership & Manager (ILM).
  • Previous HR experience - minimum of 2 years+ in an advisory, officer or generalist role.
  • Experience in handling employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinaries an absence management.
  • Experience advising managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Knowledge of recruitment processes and onboarding.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to interpret and apply employment legislation.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases/workloads
  • Confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
Responsibilities
  • Support the HR manager in delivery of employee relations training to the management group including monitoring of mandatory training completion.
  • Support the HR Manager with ensuring HR polices and protocol are up to date and legally compliant including the staff handbook.
  • Support employee relations issues, by gathering evidence or information and drafting reports for disciplinaries, grievances or capability issues.
  • Assist with processing leavers and exit interviews.
  • Checking absence management and administration including monitoring triggers.
  • Assist with the implementation of HR projects, including employee engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain and update HR systems and employee records, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Minute taking on formal meetings.
  • Assist with recruitment activities such as positing job adverts, screening candidates and interviewing.
  • Supporting departmental audits (e.g. GDPR and employment law compliance).
  • Assist with right to work and other compliance documentation and training.
  • Assist visa and immigration issues to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Supporting the management and administration of employee work visa sponsorship and relevant work permits.
  • Assist with processing DBS requirements for appropriate staff.
  • Assist with the administration of Company Business Charge Cards.
  • Assist the Administrative Secretary with the control and administration of Company fleet vehicles.
