EXPERIENCE

  • CIPD accreditation level 5 or equivalent
  • Strong employment law knowledge
  • Proven experience in managing employee relations caseworks, including performance management, absence management, disciplinary and grievance
  • Experience of supporting HR programmes and initiatives (e.g. performance management processes, compensation planning, restructures, conflict resolution)

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This role will work collaboratively with the wider HR team to support our people and contribute effectively to the roll out of the strategic HR and talent development plan.
The role will be responsible for supporting employees and line managers across the organisation as well as leading on the development of HR initiatives and programmes of work.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the HR Business Partners and key stakeholders to support them in building high performing, engaged teams through effective people processes
  • Provide professional advice to line managers on all areas of employment relations, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, flexible working and performance management. Using up to date knowledge of employment legislation and best practise HR (escalating more complex cases to the HR Business Partners)
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and Line Managers on current and new HR policies, systems and processes
  • Deliver and apply qualitative and quantitative people data to inform strategic and operational decisions
  • Undertake HR project work where required
  • Provide support and/or additional resource to the wider HR team, including the Recruitment Lead, Learning & Development Partner and HR Coordinator where appropriate
  • Manage Occupational Health referrals where appropriate
  • Proactively recommend process improvement and policy updates as necessary
  • Oversee the DSE / H&S referrals for employees
  • Administer and coordinate the Job Matching process, to include organising meetings, collating and circulating paperwork and following up decisions
  • Conduct exit interviews for leavers, reporting and identifying any trends or escalating issues to the HR Business Partner as necessary

THE ROLE IS BASED IN HARWELL, OXFORDSHIRE AND THE POSTHOLDER WILL NEED TO BE IN THE OFFICE AT LEAST ONE DAY PER WEEK, CURRENTLY WEDNESDAY.

This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
