Joseph Ash Galvanizing is looking to recruit an experienced HR Advisor to provide expert employee relations advice to 9 sites plus Head Office. A great opportunity for someone who is proactive, confident and wants to make a difference.

Your day to day:

  • Partnering with the business to deliver high quality and pro-active case management advice and guidance on ER issues such as; capability, disciplinary, grievance, absence management, the Equality Act, appeals and flexible working whilst ensuring consistency of decisions across the business.
  • Providing the business with pragmatic and commercial based solutions whilst considering both the employment legal and risk framework.
  • Providing coaching to managers to up skill and support them to reach positive outcomes with their colleagues.
  • Training, coaching and developing line managers and working with the People Partner to develop, deliver and review training material and processes to up-skill line manager capability.
  • Maintaining an effective feedback loop with the People Partner to drive change.
  • Escalate and advise high risk cases to the People Partner and as and when appropriate.
  • Develop relationships across the business to obtain support when formal meeting support is required on case work.
  • Managing all cases in line with GDPR regulations.
  • Contributing to team development through the sharing of best practice and lessons learnt.
  • Support the progress of ET’s, COT3’s and settlement agreements liaising with Make UK and ACAS as necessary.
  • Support the teams with generalist ad hoc projects across the business.
  • Compile reports, review data and make recommendations to the business on current trends.
  • Develop, review and update People policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years employee relations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of current Employment Law.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills and ability to hold challenging conversations in a way which leads to the desired outcomes.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated with good attention to detail.
  • Customer focused and service oriented.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising own workload in a high volume, demanding environment with changing priorities.
  • Driven to succeed with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Able to deal with highly confidential information discreetly.
  • Work both with pace and accuracy, remaining focused on the detail.
  • Able to work in a sensitive and diplomatic manner, whilst remaining confident and resilient.
  • Able to build and maintain effective working relationships, both face to face and over the telephone.
  • Excellent coaching skills and effective questioning techniques.
  • Full or part CIPD recognised qualification is essential.
  • In possession of a current driving licence.
  • Experience of HR system implementation would be an advantage
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment with some union exposure is desirable.
