Description
We’re Pentland Brands: a global family business behind some of the world’s most iconic active and lifestyle brands. We bring integrity, energy and ambition to our work, setting high standards and striving to deliver great outcomes without ego. Shape the work behind some of the world’s most loved sport, outdoor and lifestyle brands. At Pentland Brands, every role helps move our brands forward. Whether you’re supporting our people, improving our systems, growing our commercial performance, strengthening operations or shaping better ways of working, your impact reaches across a portfolio of iconic brands used by consumers around the world. The HR Advisor provides practical, delivery-focused HR support across the London HQ and UK retail population, helping turn people priorities, processes and plans into consistent day-to-day action across advice, employee relations and operational activity. The role supports managers and employees across the employee lifecycle, ensuring day-to-day HR activity is delivered consistently, accurately and in line with policy, legislation and Pentland Brands values. What you’ll be doing: Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees across the London HQ population, escalating complex or high-risk matters appropriately. Manage employee relations cases including performance, conduct, absence, grievances and informal resolution, with support from the Senior HR Business Partner where required. Coach managers on people processes, policy application and good people management practice. Support employee lifecycle activity including onboarding, contractual changes, probation, family leave, flexible working, leavers and offboarding. Work with the HR Assistant to ensure HR administration, employee records and system data are accurate and completed on time. Prepare letters, meeting notes, case documentation and employee communications to a high standard. Support cyclical HR processes including performance, talent, engagement and reward, ensuring deadlines and actions are followed up. Use data and case trends to identify recurring issues, manager capability needs and process improvement opportunities. Partner with Payroll, Benefits and Talent Acquisition to ensure employee changes and onboarding activity are joined up. Support HR projects, policy updates, engagement initiatives and local communications as required. Promote consistent, fair and inclusive people practices across the London HQ and UK retail populations. Handle employee information with confidentiality, care and compliance with GDPR requirements. What you’ll bring: Experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role. Good knowledge of UK employment law and confidence advising on employee relations matters. Experience preparing HR documentation, letters, meeting notes and case records. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust with managers and employees. A practical, solutions-focused approach, with the judgement to escalate when needed. Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases and tasks. High discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Experience using HR systems such as SuccessFactors is desirable. Why Pentland Brands? If your experience and expectations look like a strong match for the role, here’s what you can expect next: Talent Team Intro Call - A 30-minute video call with our Talent Team to get to know each other, talk through the role and your experience, and answer any questions you have. Experience Interview - A more in-depth interview (usually online) with the hiring manager to explore your skills, experience and approach, and how these align with the role, our principles, and our ways of working.
