Job description
Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on the employee experience, inclusion, wellbeing and engagement at Sheffield City Council? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We’re committed to creating an inclusive and engaging environment where all employees feel welcome, supported and able to thrive. Our newly formed Employee Engagement, Inclusion and Wellbeing team plays a key role in strengthening the voice of our workforce, coordinating activities that drive meaningful improvements, and helping us to retain a diverse and talented workforce.
WHAT YOU BRING
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust, rapport and strong relationships across all areas of the organisation, putting our customers at the heart of what we do. These attributes will be supported by having strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet the demands of this new team.
Within the People Service we are seeking to embrace the technology available to us and therefore you will have strong IT skills in relation to the use of Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint and a willingness to embrace newer applications including CoPilot, MS Bookings and MS Forms.
As part of this team, you will work closely with colleagues across the People Service and the wider organisation to deliver tasks and projects that enhance the employee experience and reinforce Sheffield City Council’s reputation as an employer of choice. This includes contributing to improvements in recruitment, reviewing people practices and policies, and ensuring that the voices of employees are reflected in our approaches to engagement, wellbeing and inclusion.
A key part of the role will involve coordinating responses to employee engagement, inclusion and wellbeing queries received via our team inbox, the anonymous “ask a question or make a comment” platform, and other channels. Some of these queries may also require recording and monitoring on the service risk register. You will be expected to interpret and apply HR policies, procedures, guidance and legislation to provide timely, accurate and accessible advice to colleagues across the organisation.
The role will also involve:
You will also support the Head of Service and the wider team with a variety of activities, while taking ownership of your own work and consistently delivering results of a high standard. Together, we are building a culture where engagement, inclusion, wellbeing and employee voice are at the heart of how we work.
