MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of experience in full-cycle payroll, with a strong understanding of payroll laws and compliance.
  • A strong commitment to integrating AI technologies into their daily workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity
  • Familiarity with payroll systems, such as ADP Workforce Now
  • 1-2 years of Human Resources experience or education (certificate, diploma, or bachelor’s degree).
  • The ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Payroll Compliance and Practitioner (PCP) designation, or working towards
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

Your role involves a blend of Payroll, HR, and Administrative functions. In payroll, you will manage monthly full-cycle processing, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, while maintaining accurate records and addressing inquiries. In HR, you will assist with recruitment, onboarding, maintaining employee records, and serving as a point of contact for policy and payroll questions. Additionally, you will provide essential administrative support, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence, as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll Functions

  • Perform full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations, including Alberta and Ontario’s payroll standards.
  • Maintain payroll records, including employee data, tax information, and deductions.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees in a timely manner.
  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including preparing T4s and other government filings.
  • Ensure accurate remittances to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other government bodies.

HR Functions

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure that all HR documentation is current and compliant with regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies and payroll issues.
  • Actively contribute to and support the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
  • Create and implement an annual performance review process for employees.
  • Run ad hoc reports as needed for HR and operational needs.
  • Organizing and managing engagement events and initiatives

Admin Functions

  • Provide general administrative support, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
