Salary: £24,463 per year
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role:*
Are you looking to develop your HR career in a role where no two days are the same. We’re looking for a well-organised and people-focused HR Assistant to join our small and supportive HR team based in Bath. You’ll work alongside our Head of People, HR Manager, two Employee and Volunteer Recruitment Specialists, and a fellow HR Administrator.
This role offers great exposure to a wide range of HR activities and is ideal for someone who’s looking to develop their career in HR.

Responsibilities include:*

  • Be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR and Volunteering queries, offering guidance and escalating more complex issues to the HR Manager.
  • Maintain accurate employee and volunteer records and ensure our systems are always up to date and GDPR-compliant.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding process, including pre-employment checks, references, DBS checks, and inductions.
  • Support the smooth running of core HR processes such as introductory periods, contract changes, leaver processes, including exit interviews, and other employee lifecycle activities.

Qualifications / Requirements:*

  • Previous experience in HR
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience handling confidential information
  • Knowledge of employment law is desirable, particularly in understanding how it applies to day-to-day HR practices and supports fair and compliant decision-making
