ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in an HR or administrative role
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Confident handling confidential information
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A people-focused approach with the ability to build relationships across all levels
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As our new HR Assistant, you will be an integral part of the team, providing support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle—from supporting the recruitment team with onboarding to performance and policy compliance. You’ll work closely with the depot managers across our 8 depots to deliver efficient, people-focused HR processes and ensure best practice is followed at every stage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the recruitment team with managing new starter onboarding: offer letters, contracts, inductions, probation tracking
  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring GDPR and data protection compliance
  • Assist with training coordination, performance review scheduling, and documentation
  • Support employee relations including grievance, disciplinary and wellbeing matters
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR queries from staff and line managers
  • Help maintain and update HR policies, handbooks, and compliance procedures
  • Coordinate leaver processes including exit interviews and equipment returns
