Job Details Salary Range: $13.50 Hourly SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The HR Assistant supports HR operations primarily in the areas of payroll and recruitment. Candidates must possess strong work ethic, understand the importance of confidentiality, possess effective communication skills, and have a willingness to go the extra mile for employees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Payroll 1. Gathering and examine time punch details to ensure validity, while working to meet payroll deadlines. May be required to input start and end times into the payroll software when necessary 2. Capturing PTO or other types of time off for recordkeeping purposes 3. Supporting HR team with garnishments, bonuses, commission, deductions, 4. Preparing payroll reports and compensation analysis for HR Director 5. Working to resolve discrepancies in pay, deductions with urgency 6. Ensure payroll processes comply with all applicable labor laws and regulations. 7. Assist with internal and external audits by providing required payroll documentation and information 8. Addressing queries regarding payroll-related issues 9. Preparing and distributing hard copy or electronic paychecks Recruitment 1. Supports onboarding new employees and may be responsible to communicate personnel policies, benefits, and procedures, and relevant information to job applicants. 2. Maintains, reviews and tracks all and applicant documentation for compliance with laws. 3. Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9. 4. Interacts with job applicants, employees, and management regarding job openings. General HR Support 1. Communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations to employees and Management. 2. Verify and maintain personnel related documentation. 3. Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and information. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor elements, fumes, noise, heat, dust, odors, and frequent exposure to a computer monitor. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift/carry at least 25 lbs. POSITION TYPE: This is a non-exempt position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am through 5 pm. Employee may be asked to work some Saturdays from 9 am through 12 pm. Analytical Skills: Analyze payroll data and resolve discrepancies. 4. Technical Proficiency: Use payroll software and other HR systems effectively. 5. Strong Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees at all levels. Act as a liaison between employees and management to ensure mutual understanding and collaboration. 6. Empathy and Emotional Intelligence: Demonstrates empathy and understanding of employee needs and concerns. Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and care. 7. Organizational Skills: Manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. 8. Knowledge of Labor Laws: Understand and apply relevant labor laws and tax regulations. 9. Delivering exceptional employee experience. 10. Self-starter. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. HS Diploma or GED required. 2. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management preferred. 3. At least one year Human Resources experience preferred. 4. SHRM-CP or PHR Certification a plus.
