Description Reports to: HR Manager Supervises: None Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly Work Schedule: Regular work hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM. Purpose of Position: The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team, assisting with recruiting, onboarding, employee support, and compliance activities. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and emotional intelligence while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Essential Skills: Clearly and effectively conveys information, both verbally and in writing. Manages multiple tasks or projects simultaneously. Job Responsibilities: Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Post open positions, screen resumes, conduct phone screenings, and assist with first-round interviews as needed. Coordinate details for interviews. Participate in job fairs and build relationships with local schools and colleges to support future hiring needs. Onboarding & Employee Support Assist in coordinating new hire onboarding processes. Initiate initial 60-day or 90-day reviews and annual reviews for employees. Serve as a resource for employees regarding general HR questions. Compliance & Policy Administration Stay informed on current labor laws, employment regulations, and internal policies to support compliance. Administrative Support Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in both physical files and Paylocity. Assist in ensuring accurate filing of documentation regarding safety incidents, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and other employee records. Assist in coordinating employee-related events and activities as requested. Assist in gathering data, producing reports, and other administrative tasks as needed. Employee Relations Support Assist with employee-related issues as requested by the HR Manager, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned by the HR Manager. Requirements Position Requirements: Complete support of and willing adherence to the mission and core values of Westfield Highschool or GED required 1+ Years of related experience and/or training in HR related field Self-starter and effective at time management Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel Passionate about hiring and maintaining a strong Faith based culture Ability to read and write in English. The ability to interpret documents such as standard operating procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, job descriptions and correspondence. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual in Spanish and English. Personal Attributes: The HR Assistant will be privileged to information that should not be shared. The role involves managing multiple projects, frequent interruptions, and a busy, sometimes noisy environment, requiring strong organizational and stress management skills.
