Dimensions
The Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) serves as the main point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on the people management aspects of the business. Reporting to the HR Superintendent, the primary customer group is Newmont’s Porcupine site.
This is a 12-month contract position
Purpose
The role proactively supports the delivery of HR programs and processes, as well as contributes to global projects to support the operation. The HRBP interfaces with site HR teams at Porcupine and the corporate HR team.

Essential Duties

  • Provide day-to-day HR solutions, counsel, and support to the business.
  • Develop on-going, key relationships as one of the primary HR contacts for Porcupine employees, Union, and managers.
  • Drive execution of HR programs, providing guidance, coaching and facilitation of information sessions as required.
  • Contribute to global projects, representing the region and ensuring local context is considered in program design.
  • Assist hiring managers to identify recruitment needs and develop the appropriate recruitment strategy.
  • Partner with Regional Talent Acquisition Team to drive the recruitment process at the site level.
  • Partner with the HR Service Center to execute HR programs and services.
  • Manage process for new hire inductions and first-day orientation.
  • Participate in Accommodation/Return to Work process as required.
  • Participate in Union meetings as required. (Grievance, arbitration etc.)
  • Conduct HR investigations independently as follow-up to allegations of misconduct, policy, and ethical violations.
  • Facilitate site HR program updates and training.
  • Present HR-related information to workforce at line-up meetings.

Training& Experience

  • Post-secondary education required, degree or diploma in Human Resources preferred.
  • Attained or working towards a CHRP designation an asset but not required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years Human Resources experience.
  • Experience with HRIS and SAP would be an asset.
  • Advanced computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft office suite.
  • Demonstrated client service orientation.
  • Highly detail-oriented and able to prioritize to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work within a diverse mix of cultures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various leadership levels.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Experience in mining or natural resources sector an asset.

Working Conditions
This is a 12 month contract position on-site in Timmins, ON supporting our Porcupine Gold Mine Operations
The work schedule is 4 days on 3 days off.
