Description
About the Role Communicare is a respected not-for-profit community services organisation that has been supporting individuals, families, and communities across Western Australia for nearly 50 years. Our purpose is to strengthen communities and improve wellbeing by delivering inclusive, accessible, and culturally responsive services that support people at all stages of life. We work alongside communities to provide practical support, early intervention, and specialist services that promote safety, connection, and opportunity. Our work is grounded in respect, equity, and social justice, with a strong focus on supporting people who may be experiencing vulnerability or disadvantage. We are seeking a strategic, people-centred Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to join the People and Culture team. This permanent, full-time role is based at our head office in Cannington and plays a critical role in supporting a values-driven, purpose-led organisation. As the HRBP, you will play a lead role as a People and Culture relationship manager, working closely with executive, managers and their leadership teams to align employee management practices and culture change programs with business objectives, and provide business-partnering services on a broad range of HR related issues. This role is central to ensuring the People and Culture function delivers high-quality, customer-focused HR services that align with Communicare’s Strategic Plan, policies, and values, and support the delivery of sustainable outcomes in the community services and not-for-profit sector. Be part of something meaningful by: Providing strategic input, partnering with executives and senior leaders to shape workforce strategy, culture, and organisational performance. Delivering expert HR business partnering across employee relations, workforce planning, performance, talent, and organisational development. Leading complex workforce matters, including investigations, risk mitigation, and issue resolution in line with legislation and policy. Ensuring strong governance and compliance with employment legislation, industrial instruments, and organisational standards. Driving operational excellence through effective HR systems, reporting, process improvement, and project delivery. Contributing to a not-for-profit community organisation committed to diversity, respect, fairness, and strong organisational culture. About You You are a confident, values-led HRBP with a strong background in human resources and employee relations, ideally within the community services or not-for-profit sector. You bring both strategic insight and operational expertise, with a genuine commitment to building inclusive, high-performing, and purpose-driven workplaces. You will hold either a qualification in Human Resources Management or have equivalent relevant experience. You will have: Strategic People Partnering Capability: Proven ability to partner with executives and managers to align people and culture strategies with organisational and community outcomes. Employee and Industrial Relations Expertise: Strong working knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and workplace relations frameworks. Complex Case Management Skills: Confidence managing sensitive and complex employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution with discretion and sound judgement. Continuous Improvement Focus: A track record of improving HR systems, processes, and the overall employee experience. Strong Stakeholder Engagement: Highly developed communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. What we can offer you Our office is located in central Cannington with a short 5 minute walk to Westfield Carousel, close to public transport, food outlets and easily accessible from Albany Highway. Other benefits include: Generous NFP Salary Packaging: Option to package up to $15,900 for general living expenses and an additional $2,650 for entertainment benefits per annum. Extra Leave: 5 days of extra paid leave per annum (pro rata for part-time). Paid Parental Leave: Paid leave and return to work incentives. Support for FDVA: Family Domestic Violence and Abuse leave, financial assistance, and structured support for any employees who have experienced FDVA incidents. Health and Wellbeing: Discounted Health Insurance with HBF, free confidential counselling services through our Employee Assistance Program, and an annual Flu Vaccination Program. Professional Development: Opportunities for growth and development within a supportive and inclusive team culture.
