SUMMARY The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for coordinating and supporting plant management human resources activities at the manufacturing facility(ies). Activities include resolution of employee issues, communication of corporate policies and procedures, providing training and educational programs; supporting management in union avoidance tactics for non-union plants, counseling with managers/supervisors on significant discipline and termination decisions for employees. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES May include, but are not limited to, the following: Counsel plant managers, supervisors and employees on various human resources activities to include policies and procedures, benefit plans, job-related concerns and issues, interpersonal relationships with peers and supervisors. Administers activities related to plant employment practices. Assist with recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring and promoting of employees. Advises and assists plant managers and supervisors with employee relations issues, complaints and terminations. Ensures progressive discipline policies are administered fairly and consistently. Prepare employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs for employees. Assist in executing employee development plans to maintain the highest level of qualified personnel Conducts human resources related training. Oversee the administration of compensation, benefits, vacation, sick leave, absence programs for employees. Participates in compensation surveys, job evaluations, promotions or adjustments in conjunction with Total Rewards. Maintain all safety records (Incident Tracker database, internal Accident Log, OSHA Log, Quarterly Incentive data) and ensure their accuracy. Responsible for accurate recording and data entry of employee information in HRIS and Payroll (Workday). Responsible for biweekly payroll review, approval and submission in Workday Responsible for local plant administrative duties including invoice coding and processing, bulletin board maintenance, maintaining files and assisting with Plant events. Any additional duties and tasks as required. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. SHRM or HRCI certified professional preferred. 5-7 years progressive HR experience. 3+ years’ experience in a generalist/functional role with exposure to compensation, performance management, training. Must have knowledge of California Labor Laws: A strong understanding of CA state-specific employment regulations, such as wage and hour laws, leave policies, and workplace safety standards. Must have Employee Relations experience: Ability to manage and resolve workplace conflicts, conduct investigations, and foster a positive organizational culture. Must be able to provide onsite HR support which may include administrative duties such as data entry in HRIS system (Workday), maintaining HSE training documentation, payroll submission, file management, ordering office supplies, coordinating plant events, etc. This is a fully onsite role. Must be able to commute daily into our Lodi facility. Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. Required Behavioral Skills: Demonstrated ability to exhibit Westlake Behaviors. Able to work independently, and coordinate with colleagues in multiple locations. Ability to maintain confidentiality, high level of attention to detail and adaptability to changing business requirements. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 per year. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company.
