Job Title: HR Business Partner
Role Overview
The HR business partner (HRBP) position will contribute at both a strategic and hands-on level to develop and deliver talent strategies that support business/studio objectives. The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR team and business management, the HRBP seeks to develop integrated solutions. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its culture and its competition. The HRBP must exercise effective time management and awareness of impact on human resources deliverables and will conduct work within KTGY standards under the direction the HR Director.

Key Job Functions

  • Oversee all levels of HR support for assigned studio(s).
  • Partner with studio leadership to provide strategic people consultation including performance management, org planning, compensation planning, engagement, EDI, recruitment, retention and more.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships across all levels.
  • Partner with managers to resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance and counsels managers as needed.
  • Assist employees with benefits, LOAs (leave of absence), and workers compensation as needed.
  • Manages Performance Process (Annual Reviews, Monthly 1:1s, etc.)
  • Oversee Learning & Development initiatives, including the Employee Development Program.
  • Manage exit processes, including conducting voluntary exit interviews and involuntary termination meetings.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations, Payroll & Benefits and HRBP peers on HR team initiatives
  • Work with HR Director of Human Resources on projects as assigned.
  • Perform other HR duties as assigned.

Experience and Education

  • 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or HRBP role.
  • 4-year degree in human resources, business, or related field and/or combination of required education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of human resources concepts and laws.
  • Thorough understanding of leave of absence laws and procedures, including federal, state, and local requirements (e.g., FMLA, state-specific paid family leave, ADA)
