We’re looking for someone special to join our team in this new HR Business Partner - Postal Operations. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

  • Ideally possess a CIPD qualification and have at least 5 years+ generalist HR experience, with a strong focus on operational HR management.
  • A proven track record of establishing data reports and the ability to identify operational recommendations to drive business improvements
  • Experience in working at a senior level with the ability to construct business cases and confidently present proposed business solutions to the Senior Leadership and Executive teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels.
  • Be able to work with own initiative and have the ability to offer new ideas
  • Strong teamworking skills and a collaborative approach to learning.
  • Organisational and planning skills to manage time and meet deadlines and objectives as well as the ability to work competently under pressure

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice, guidance and HR expertise to Postal Operations line managers in all aspects of employee relations
  • Lead the coordination, management and application of all operational sickness absence processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Support Postal Operative Managers to utilise performance balance scorecards within performance management to drive service delivery improvement
  • Work collaboratively with Postal Operations colleagues to embed performance management improving standards within the team
  • Responsible for group wide HR data reporting of attendance data to identify trends, highlighting key metrics and recommendations for action.
  • Responsible for development of new evidenced based initiatives to improve employee attendance and reduce absenteeism.
  • Manage casework for employees on long-term sickness leave, working closely with Occupational Health and external providers where necessary.
  • Support the return-to-work process, including conducting return-to-work interviews and making recommendations for adjustments as required.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained for all sickness absences, in line with company policies and data protection regulations.
  • Contribute to ongoing negotiation with CWU by providing meaningful data insight on attendance/sickness absence trends within Postal Operations
  • Oversee employment law and provide advice and support to assure compliance.
  • Lead the recruitment of all new operational employees, including the development of job descriptions, preparing advertisements, short-listing and interviewing appropriate candidates.
  • Plan onboarding strategies and support new employees’ induction to ensure exceptional first-days, weeks and months experience, leading to retention of engaged staff.
  • Conduct and analyse exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data.
  • Identify policy improvement opportunities relating to employee terms and conditions of employment to ensure that Group complies with legal requirements and best practice.
  • Support Postal operations Managers to develop succession plans which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements.
  • Advise and note take at disciplinary and grievance hearings.
  • Support the Head of HR with Group projects to enable the business to deliver upon its Strategic Business Plan.
