Description
The HR Business Partner for our Dedicated warehouse plays a critical role in supporting the human resources function for our fast-paced logistics operations. This position will be responsible for a wide range of HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with all relevant labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a passion for fostering a positive and productive work environment, and the ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Recruitment & Staffing (High Volume): * Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for warehouse positions (e.g., forklift operators, pickers, packers, shipping/receiving clerks, supervisors), including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management. * Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates in a competitive market. * Conduct pre-employment checks, including background checks and drug screenings, as required. * Maintain accurate applicant tracking system (ATS) records. Onboarding & Offboarding: * Facilitate comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and understanding of company policies, safety procedures, and warehouse operations. * Conduct new hire orientations, process all new hire paperwork, and ensure compliance with I-9 regulations. * Manage the offboarding process, including exit interviews, final pay, and benefits termination. Employee Relations: * Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, providing timely and effective resolution. * Conduct investigations into employee misconduct, policy violations, and harassment claims, ensuring fairness and adherence to company policy. * Provide guidance and coaching to employees and managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution. * Promote a positive employee relations environment through proactive communication and engagement initiatives. Performance Management: * Support managers in the performance review process, including goal setting, feedback, and performance improvement plans. * Assist with the development and implementation of performance management tools and resources. Compensation & Benefits: * Assist with payroll inquiries. * Respond to employee questions regarding benefits. Training & Development: * Identify training needs within the warehouse and coordinate relevant training programs (e.g., safety training, forklift certification, leadership development). * Promote a culture of continuous learning and development. HR Policy & Compliance: * Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO). * Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and documentation. * Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Safety & Workers' Compensation: * Collaborate with warehouse management and safety teams to promote a safe working environment. * Assist with workers' compensation claims management, including accident reporting and follow-up. * Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures. HR Administration: * Maintain HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data integrity. * Prepare HR reports and analytics as needed. * Manage relationships with staffing agencies. * Perform other HR duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. * 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years supporting a manufacturing, distribution, or 3PL warehouse environment. * Proven experience with high-volume recruitment in a blue-collar environment. * Solid understanding of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels, from front-line associates to senior management. * Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. * Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. * SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally. Ability to navigate a warehouse environment, including uneven surfaces and varying temperatures. The anticipated annual salary for this position is between $75,000 - $85,000.
