DRASLOVKA – HR BUSINESS PARTNER USA (MEMPHIS) AND CANADA

Draslovka Mining Solutions is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR Team to support our people in the USA (Memphis site) and Canada (remote employees)! The HR Business Partner will manage the functions of the Human Resources department including union negotiations, hiring and interviewing staff, performance management, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and ensuring compliance to company policies and practices. This position will report directly to the HR Manager and be located in our Memphis, TN location.

The HR Business Partner will serve as an independent contributor while executing, developing, and implementing HR strategic initiatives to support employees at the Memphis site and remote employees in Canada. The HR Business Partner responsibilities include the following:

  • Implement and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization
  • Act as primary contact for Union engagements
  • Investigate internal employee complaints of unfair treatment. Recommend solutions to leadership team, Ethics Committe when appropriate, including consistent corrective action or termination, based on company policies, local and federal laws, weighing compliance risk factors to the organization. Document investigation, recommendations, and resolution for the complaint.
  • Employee Engagement Initiatives: analysis of employee surveys, identify areas of opportunity, and work with site leaders, supervisors and employees to improve engagement/trust/teamwork.
  • Consult and coach managers on performance management best practices, including progressive performance management, performance improvement plans, exit strategies, and involuntary separations.
  • Actively manage the performance management process, including the annual merit review cycle and performance improvement planning/follow-up.
  • Work hand in hand with legal, internal and external on a variety of employment litigation matters.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs. Recommend or create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management, EEOC, AAP reporting
  • Build a strong communication plan which promotes a positive working climate.
  • Develop and implement an internal culture to support a culture that fosters, develops and sustains a working environment which promotes efficiency and productivity. Nurture a positive working environment
  • Maintain personnel administration systems to ensure accurate data is available and maintain strict employee data control.
  • Proactively seek new ways of doing things to deliver improved business results and effectively lead organizational change.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • BS/BA Human Resources or 10-15 years applicable education and experience.
  • Union experience is an absolute pre-requisite
  • People oriented and results driven

  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
