Position Overview The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) partners directly with operational leadership to support people-related decision making across fast-paced, multi-unit business environments. This role works closely with Regional and Site Leaders to address performance concerns, improve team effectiveness, and navigate employee relations matters in real time. The HRBP provides coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management, workforce planning, employee development, and organizational effectiveness in environments where staffing needs, leadership capability, and business priorities may shift frequently. This position requires the ability to evaluate situations from both a business and risk perspective, balancing regulatory considerations with operational outcomes. Success in this role requires sound judgment, comfort operating with incomplete information, and the ability to influence leaders without direct authority in order to drive consistent people practices across geographically distributed teams. This role supports multi-state, multi-unit operations and requires working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and compliance considerations across diverse jurisdictions. Supervisory Responsibilities This role operates semi-autonomously and supervises up to three employees. Responsibilities include hiring, training, directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns in accordance with company policy and applicable laws. Key Responsibilities Partner with operational leaders to support day-to-day people decisions related to performance management, team effectiveness, and employee relations. Provide real-time coaching and guidance to managers on leadership practices including performance conversations, accountability, and development planning. Collaborate with leadership to address employee concerns, resolve workplace issues, and improve working relationships across teams. Evaluate employee relations matters and determine appropriate next steps based on business context, leadership capability, and risk considerations. Support leaders through corrective action processes including performance improvement planning and disciplinary action when necessary. Conduct or support employee relations reviews and investigations as appropriate. Identify recurring workforce challenges and partner with leadership to implement practical solutions that improve engagement, retention, or productivity. Guide leaders through organizational changes including workforce planning, role transitions, or team restructuring. Monitor trends across assigned business units and partner with HR leadership to develop targeted programs or interventions as needed. Ensure consistent application of people practices across locations while adapting guidance to meet operational realities. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and HR Operations to support onboarding, transfers, and internal movement. Participate in regional ops meetings to maintain awareness of operational priorities and workforce needs. Provide guidance to HR Rep staff supporting assigned business units. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, compensation, benefits, administration, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Google workspace or related software. Must possess a thorough understanding of and experience in working with government agencies, regulations and laws (FMLA, OFCCP, FLSA, EEOC, DOL, OHSA, etc.). Must possess knowledge of employment law. Demonstrated HR policy & procedure experience. ADP HRIS experience preferred. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business or related field and 8 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment required.
